Sabu is a striking tabby and white, short-haired, spayed female cat who is being fostered in Tipton, West Mids. We estimate she was born around 3 years ago but can’t be sure.
Sabu came into care well over a year ago along with multiple other cats and kittens who were all living on a car park, at the time we thought Sabu was pregnant but it turned out to be a false alarm. She has since been spayed and she has spent some time having one to one foster care in the hope that we could bring her round but sadly she found the whole experience too stressful and ended up coming back to me where she can see other cats.
The problem is, Sabu doesn’t like/trust humans and is what we class as feral, she does however, love the company of other cats and must go where there are other friendly cats to keep her company.
Sabu used to spend all her time hiding in a cat carrier which we turned into a safe haven for her (handy for getting her to the vets) but over the past few months she has had the company of a confident youngster and this has really brought Sabu out of her shell. She still keeps away from us but is happy to watch us without hiding from sight.
Sabu would be aggressive if she was pushed which means she is not going to be a great companion pet, but she has spent too much time in care now for us to consider putting her on a farm or stables, which makes her a really difficult girl to home. Sabu would make a great little friend for other cats, she truly is no trouble at all just so long as she is left to do her own thing, she has such an endearing little face with an expression like an old fashioned teddy bear.
Applications for the pets in our care should be done by telephone in the first instance please, not by e mail.
